Sad news today. Our friend FIDE-IM and CCGM Jef BOEY passed away a few days ago.
Jef Boey 1934-2016
Belgian CC GM Jef Boey died on February 28th 2016, aged 81. In the final of the 7th ICCF-worldchampionship 1972/76 he finished second behind J. Estrin (USSR). He won the Belgian OTB championships in 1959, 1964 and 1971 and represented Belgium at 7 FIDE-Olympiads.
For your information I have written a few words. I also have written some more words which appear in French and in Dutch on our Belgian website (www.ebbs.be). I will publish more details in our next bulletin end of March. He was a member of Echiquier Belge during more than 30 years.
