11th LADIES WORLD CORRESPONDENCE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

Tuesday, July 15, 2014: SEMIFINALS

 

On behalf of the ICCF, I’m pleased to announce the 11th Ladies World Correspondence Chess Championship Semifinals.

 

The start date of the Semifinals will be November 20, 2014, at the same time of the Final of the 10th Ladies WCCC.

 

All entries will be accepted according with ICCF Tournament Rules valid as from January 1st, 2014, to be received not later than October 1, 2014.

 

According to Rule 1.5.1 of the ICCF Tournament Rules, the following lady players are entitled to enter the Semifinals:


(a) the participants of the Finals 8 and 9 who have scored at least 30% of the possible points,

(b) the participants of the Semifinals 9 and 10 who finished in place 3 or 4 or scored at least 60% of the possible points,


(c) holders of the title International CC Ladies' Master,

 

(d) lady players with fixed ICCF rating above 2100 as at July 1, 2014.


In addition to these qualified players, each member Federation will be allowed to nominate one lady player. Those Federations with 20 or more active lady players (according to the ICCF Rating List at July 1, 2014 may submit one more additional nomination, whilst those Federations with 50 or more active lady players may submit two more additional nominations.

 

The tournament will be played on ICCF webserver, with sections from 9 to 13 players, depending from the number of the entries.

 

If the number of the entries won’t be a multiple of 9, 11 or 13, the players who have been entered according to points 1.5.1.(d) and who have the lowest ICCF ELO rating won’t be admitted to the Semi-Finals.

 

Players entering more than one section will be accepted only to fill vacancies.

 

All entries must include the following: name of the player, ICCF ID number, email address, country code.

It is also mandatory that the qualification right under Tournament Rules 1.5 should be specified for each entry.

 

The ICCF Executive Board asks that all ICCF Delegates ensure that this important information is made available in all national CC magazines and websites. It is the responsibilty of Delegates to ensure that all players are made aware of these arrangements.

Appendix. Section 1.5 of the Tournament Rules

 

 

1.5 Semi - Finals of the Ladies World Correspondence Chess World Championship

 

1.5.1 The following will be entitled to enter a Semi-Final:

(a) the participants of one of the two previous or running Finals who have scored at least 30% of

the possible points,

(b) the participants of one of the two previous or running Semi-Finals who finished in place 3 or 4 or

scored at least 60% of the possible points,

(c) holders of the title International CC Ladies' Master and lady players who are entered through the

individual national CC federations according to a quota set by the ICCF Title Tournaments

Commissioner and approved by the ICCF Executive Board,

(d) those lady players whose most recent published rating prior to the tournament start date,

corresponds to a minimum established by the ICCF Title Tournaments Commissioner and approved

by the ICCF Executive Board.
