Maigonis Avotinš

Dear ICCF Officials, Delegates, Players, and Friends,

On behalf of the ICCF Executive Board, it is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our most cherished ICCF family members, Maigonis Avotinš, shortly after our Congress in Amsterdam concluded yesterday. His vibrant presence and invaluable contributions have enriched our correspondence chess family over many years. As we remember the insightful discussions and shared moments, let us honor his memory by continuing to engage and learn from each other. 

In his honor, we invite you to share any pictures capturing the essence of Maigonis, his lovely wife Anita, and all the memorable moments we have all shared over the years.
