The 6th Chess School-Friendly International Event launched

Friday, October 11, 2019: with the participation of 9 schools from … Bulgaria, England, Germany, Greece, Spain and Poland

Short history:

Initial idea to organize friendly match between schools was raised by teachers Nikos Rokopanos (GRE) and Jan Wiech (POL) in 2014, which has been continued in the following years in a larger cast and in the form of a team event.

6th School-Friendly Event

The Polish Correspondence Chess Commission of the Polish Chess Federation is organizing this tournament.

The event regulations were placed at the organizer website here. They were sent to all national delegates and placed also at the ICCF website.

The main purpose is to integrate school children within common passion chess.

This is the 6th edition of School-Friendly Event played on the ICCF server from 2019-10-20 to 2020-05-31 at 4 boards (teacher+3 students under 19).

The event is unrated. Time control – an incremental rate of play (initial time: 20 days per game plus increment: 1 move in 3 days with duplication after 20 days; 10 days leave per calendar year, no special leave). Unfinished games will be adjudicated.

This time participants are teams from 9 following schools:
