IM Tomas Carnstam (1949-2020) was a pillar of strength for Swedish correspondence chess.

For more than 35 years he indefatigably and almost on a daily basis gave his idealistic efforts to promote Swedish correspondence chess in various capacities as head of our members secretarial office.

His loss is deeply felt among all chess friends of Sweden and he has left a great blank in all respects. SSKK has decided to arrange a couple of events in honour of his memory, one of them is this postal GM tournament.

This event is played by postal mail.
The start date was 8/24/2022.
There is no end date.
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 40 days with duplication after 12 days is used.
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.
There is no special leave in this event.
This tournament allows claims based on the seven piece tablebase.
Draw offers are restricted to one offer per player every 10 moves (called the ten moves draw rule).
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the TD.
