The Romanian Correspondence Chess Central Commission and ICCF IM Valer Eugen Demian are happy to announce the organizing of Valer Vasile Demian Memorial (ROU). We want to thank everyone who supported this project and enabled us to put together 6 groups of 15 players each from a total of 34 countries. Good luck to all participants. May the best and most inspired win.

Prizes:
There are prizes offered by the Demian family. The total prize fund is $2,000 USD broken down as follows:
$250 USD - 1st place (clear after tie-breaks) in each of the 6 groups
$250 USD - best game of the tournament split 50-50 between both players
$250 USD - best game played with the 1. Nc3 opening split 50-50 between both players

This is a server event.
The start date was 12/15/2020.
There is no end date.
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 50 days with duplication after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.
There is no special leave in this event.
Linear conditionals can be entered.
This tournament allows claims based on the seven piece tablebase.
Draw offers are restricted to one offer per player every 10 moves (called the ten moves draw rule).
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the server.
Other participants can see the games only when they are finished, and at least 10 games are finished in the event.
