Peter Hugh Clarke was an OTB British Master and games editor for the British Chess Magazine
Born in London on 18/3/33, Peter came 2nd in the British Championship (OTB) on 5 occasions.
He represented the British Chess Federation (OTB) at Zonal tournaments in 1957, 1960, 1964 and at the Olympiads in 1954, 1956, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1968.
Peter was author of several chess books including; Mikhail Tal’s Best Games of Chess (1961), 100 Soviet Miniatures (1964), Petrosian’s Best Games of Chess 1946-63 (1965).
Peter's Correspondence Chess achievements were also impressive;
Awarded CC IM in 1976 and GM in 1980
British CC Champion 1976-77 with a score of 8/10.
8th CC Olympiad final 1977-82 member of the Great Britain team that came 3rd (Bronze medal)
1st European CC Team Championship Preliminaries (1973) Peter played on Board 1 scoring 4.5/6 helping Great Britain qualify for the Final.
He finally retired from CC in 1981 only on doctor’s orders.

The tie breaker order for the prize fund, should any players in the top 3 places have the same number of points will be; 1. Baumbach (most wins) 2. SB. Should there still no separation then prizes will be split evenly between the tied placings. £25 per win will be awarded to players to encourage positive results. All prizes will be paid at the end of the tournament (by PayPal to any overseas players if possible)

This is a server event.

There is no end date.
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 50 days with duplication after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.
There is no special leave in this event.
This tournament allows claims based on the six piece tablebase.
Draw offers are essentially restricted to one offer per player per game (called the Code of Conduct draw rule). See 2017 Playing Rules-Server 2d and/or TD Manual-Server 11.3.3 for details.
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the server.
