Welcome to the 1st English Correspondence Chess Championship. There has been a total of 70 entries for this Championship placed into ranking order in accordance with the Rules specified in the tournament announcement.

Tie-Breaks: Tie-breaks will be resolved in the following order of priority:
a) number of wins by each tied player in the tournament;
b) points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System;
c) results of the tied players against each other.
If players are still tied after all relevant tie-breaking procedures have been used, the players will be considered equal.

Prizes: Winner of this section will receive £15.

The winner of this Preliminary section shall be entitled to enter a Semi-Final of the 2nd ECCC.

This is a server event.
The start date was 3/31/2017.
The end date was 12/31/2018.
ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 40 days with duplication after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
21 days of leave per year are available to each player.
Special leave can be requested from the TD.
This tournament allows claims based on the six piece tablebase.
Draw offers are essentially restricted to one offer per player per game (called the Code of Conduct draw rule). See 2017 Playing Rules-Server 2d and/or TD Manual-Server 11.3.3 for details.
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the TD.
Other participants can see the games only when they are finished, and at least 10 games are finished in the event.
