The 2023 Canadian Championship (KE79) will be held in two stages. There will be 2 Semi-finals sections with the top-3 players from each group advancing to the Finals. The average rating in KE791 is 2136.
90% of entry fees will be returned as prizes, resulting in a total tournament prize pool of $360.
Semifinals($50 pool): Each section winner will receive $25.
Finals:($310 pool): 1st-$160, 2nd-100, 3rd-$50
Tiebreaks will be used for both advancement and cash prizes.

ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 40 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.
There is no special leave in this event.
Linear conditionals can be entered.
This tournament allows claims based on the seven piece tablebase.
Draw offers are restricted to one offer per player every 10 moves (called the ten moves draw rule).
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 18.104.22.168).
If needed, adjudicators will be selected by the server.
