As there have been inquiries from players, the organizing team of VWC 5 would like to clarify the following
The final of the VWC 5 is going to consist of 15 players.
According to the announcement at the start of the semifinals the winners of the semifinal groups are qualified to the final.
Moreover six of the best second placed players are also qualified to the final.Ties will be broken according to the ICCF rules (Baumbach rule):
a) Number of wins by each tied player in the tournament
b) points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System
c) results of the tied players against each other.
To determine the six best second placed players the following system will be used:
a) number of points
b) number of wins
c) points evaluation by the Sonneborn-Berger-System.
