In Memory of Malcolm Peltz who was a great servant for BFCC and member club Natcor. Malcolm was a tireless worker and at one point was Natcor treasurer, tournament controller, pairings & results secretary, returning officer, distribution officer and social secretary! To his great credit he kept working for CC during his illness. Let this tournament be a fitting memory to him and played in the spirit of Amici sumus. This event is utilizing the Sofia Rule, an option provided at the ICCF Congress in Cardiff, 2015. Players are unable to agree a draw until 30 moves have been completed.

ICCF standard time control 10 moves in 50 days with duplication after 20 days is used.
If a player exceeds allowed thinking time in any way, the player will automatically be scored with a loss. Under some circumstances all of the player’s games will subsequently be cancelled (if not already rated).
45 days of leave per year are available to each player.

This tournament allows claims based on the six piece tablebase.
Players cannot agree to a draw before move 30.
Draw offers are essentially restricted to one offer per player per game (called the Code of Conduct draw rule). See 2017 Playing Rules-Server 2d and/or TD Manual-Server 11.3.3 for details.
Ties are broken by the Baumbach tie breaking rule (see ICCF rule 1.3.4.2).
