I have received the below email from someone I do not not know, perhaps someone here can offer an idea about he 'piece' described. Google suggests that Jean Jaurs was a figure within French politics.

Hi Mike,
I guess that a Belgian chess club in Gent. The name was misspelled and should be: S.C. Jean Jaurès S.C. = Schaak Club = chess club Jean Jaurès (1859-1914) was a French socialist leader, one of the founders of the French Socialist Party in 1902. The chess club has been named after the house in which they play chess, not because JJ was a chess player (not at all). Unfortunately I couldn't find a website of that Belgian chess club. Best wishes, Wim

Hi Mickey,
In-the-mean-time I also found their homepage: http://users.telenet.be/jeanjaures. The site is completely in Dutch (Flemish) language, so I am afraid most forum members will not be able to read it. Best wishes, Wim

Fantastic!,
Thanks Wim, I'll email the guy back and give him a link to the forum, my first thought was that it was the usual spam but perhaps not. Best Wishes, Mickey |
